Every Moment Counts!
Make health part of your conversations.
Every conversation you have that transfers positive information about SIDA prevention to a Moroccan community member counts! Please educate yourself and take advantage of your valuable moments with youth to encourage them to make health decisions and love carefully.
PCVs have a unique opportunity to engage youth as mentors. This allows volunteers to be advocates for youth as they grow and face new questions about their lives and their health.

BIKE-4-SIDA - 2013
Thinking Outside the Project Box
Volunteers from several regions reached over 500 men, women and youth during two seperate BIKE-4-SIDA events in November! One trek went from Errachidia to Ouarzazate (300 km) center, there they engaged Moroccan counterparts to facilitate trainings in Women’s Neddis, Dar Chebabs and Dar Talibas. Another BIKE-4-SIDA trek covered the route from Beni Mellal to Marrakech, engaging youth and Moroccan health advocates and clinicians in the fighat against SIDA. The BIKE-4-SIDA project could be repeated in a variety of ways from short bike treks to health hikes or marathons. Here is the manual.

Art for SIDA Prevention
We are the Same!
Volunteers use art activities to inspire younger Moroccans to express their ideas about HIV/AIDS. This activity can be used before and after your SIDA BASICS Package Presentation to reflect changes in audience perception of the disease.

Partner with Local Experts
Increase effectiveness!
Morocco offers a network of organizations and experts ready to partner with you. Your community members will often be more open to information delivered via local experts who have the language and culture savvy to exponentially increase the effectiveness of your activities. In May 2014, Volunteers partnerd with a local association to bring SIDA/HIV outreach to the Rose Festival in Klaa M'Gouna. 470 individuals took the rapid-HIV test, and hundreds received SIDA information from volunteers. Partnerships-->get things done!

SIDA Theatre Competition
Art can help educate young people about SIDA
“Doing a SIDA skit competition gave youth a new and different way to approach a subject that isn't always openly talked about. Youth were able to be creative and share information with people that might not otherwise have access to or understand the information. I've found that theater is a wonderful way to do health peer education.”
